The 30th Sunday in Ordinary Time
If we want to find out what love really is we have to peer into the heart and mind of God. In God’s eyes and understanding, love is total giving of oneself and asking for nothin in return.
God invented love. He will make it work. If we will be faithful to him, if we make the decision to love the way he calls us to, he will take over. Love is a powerful dynamic.
The Lord wants us to love those who are close.
He wants us to know that love is a decision. It’s nice when there are feelings. But, love is a decision and a gift. We make the decision, he gives the gift. We have to make the decision every day to love those around us in a special way.
Jesus wants us to get serious about love and to love those we are called to love.
Deep down inside most of us don’t believe we’re loveable. We believe the lie that we are no good. So, it’s hard for us to accept the Lord’s love because we don’t think we deserve it. The only condition of God’s love is receiving it.
He wants us to love one another just the way he has loved us.
